SKIN CARE

As an Aesthetic Nurse, I am trained in and use Medical grade skin care products. It is formulated by highly experienced physicians, biochemists and chemical engineers to target skin conditions. The combination of the delivery systems and bioavailable ingredients means medical-grade skin care can deliver longer-lasting results. The ingredients can deliver results quickly when used in the right way. They should be purchased under professional care by a skin expert to make sure you are using the products correctly. With a personalised medical skin care routine, you may notice results in as little as 6-8 weeks.

Some of the active ingredients include Glycolic acid which reduces the build-up of cells on the outermost layer of the skin. This results in radiant skin that is softer and smoother. It can also reduce uneven pigmentation through exfoliation which minimises melanin (pigment) clumping. It targets the cells to increase collagen and the cells that bind water ie Hyaluronic acid. This increases hydration to visibly plump the skin, reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles and provide a firm look to the skin. Other acids include mandelic which is more gentle on the skin and good for sensitive skin and darker skin tones. It promises cell turnover and stimulates collagen production. Salicylic acid helps with exfoliation, it works well on blackheads and whiteheads and is therefore good for acne. It helps with wrinkles, dark spots, dullness and skin texture.

Retinol

is Vitamin A and it is anti-ageing. It works at a deeper level in our skin. It increases cell turnover helping with Acne, Wrinkles and Hyperpigmentation. It stimulates collagen and elastin production, thickening the skin slowing down and filling in fine lines. It helps the skin stay hydrated and gives it a glow. Retinol needs to be used slowly and with supervision. It can be too strong when used alone and cause irritation and redness.

Antioxidants

protect our skin from free radicals like UV, smoking, alcohol, pollution, and poor nutrition. Normal skin has high levels of Vitamin C which is a powerful Antioxidant. It supports collagen synthesis and protects against UV damage. Studies show that Vitamin C is lower in aged and sun-damaged skin. This causes poor wound healing. Vitamin C has been shown to decrease melanin production which interferes with the enzyme tyrosinase to stop Hyperpigmentation. Vitamin C can be very powerful and should be used under supervision.

I work with Aesthetic Source the award-winning distributor for clinically proven products. I have been trained in all the products I supply like Skin better science, Neostrata, Cyspera, Clinsept and more. These products have fantastic clinical trials behind their results making them stand out.
