FACE PEELS
These peels are often known as chemical peels where a chemical solution is applied to the face to remove the top layer of the skin. Before considering peels it's very important to have a full medical and skin consultation to see are suitable for any peel.
Verbal or written consent is extremely important. A bespoke skincare regime for your skin needs to be in place for at least 3-4 weeks to
prepare your skin for a peel.
Areas that are good for peeling include the face, neck (increased sensitivity) chest, back,
extremities (hands and forearms).

What to expect during a Skin Peel Procedure.
You should come to the clinic with no make-up or contact lenses on the day you plan to do your peel. A full medical history form and consent form needs to be filled out before the treatment. Any questions you may have about after-care will be answered before the procedure.
You will lie at a 45-degree angle and be made comfortable by your aesthetic Nurse. Your skin is cleansed with a relevant cleanser and prepared for the peel to follow. All areas will be protected including the eyes and mouth and are kept out of the way of the peel. The peel is applied and kept on the face as long as is tolerated by the client. Your nurse will be assessing your skin and its reaction during all this time. The peel will be neutralised after the required time. Creams will be applied post-peel with an SPF. It is advisable not to go into the sun for the next week as we don’t want to expose the renewed skin. Such problems as hyperpigmentation can occur. However, if this can’t be avoided then you need to wear appropriate SPF and keep applying whilst in direct sun.
What to expect in the day's post-peel and the speed of skin improvement. Often there is no visible healing or recovery time. The skin looks and feels normal within a few days to a week. Your skin is usually sensitive from the peel for 1-4 days, but it may take a week or longer. During this time, patients should use products advised by the nurse. Textural smoothing and improvement occur with 1 -3 peels. Noticeable improvements occur with 3-6 peels. This is why peels are sold in courses and yield the best possible results for the client's skin.
