Some of the active ingredients include Glycolic acid which reduces the build-up of cells on the outermost layer of the skin. This results in radiant skin that is softer and smoother. It can also reduce uneven pigmentation through exfoliation which minimises melanin (pigment) clumping. It targets the cells to increase collagen and the cells that bind water ie Hyaluronic acid. This increases hydration to visibly plump the skin, reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles and provide a firm look to the skin. Other acids include mandelic which is more gentle on the skin and good for sensitive skin and darker skin tones. It promises cell turnover and stimulates collagen production. Salicylic acid helps with exfoliation, it works well on blackheads and whiteheads and is therefore good for acne.
