We ask you to wear light-fitting clothes or shorts at the knee as we will be doing tests on the couch.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: center;\">An impression of your feet is taken with plaster of Paris (cast) which makes the insoles you have made for you bespoke or custom made. From these casts, the insoles are made. The casts are kept on file for up to 18 months meaning you don\u2019t need another cast taken if you want a second pair made down the line.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: center;\">We need an hour's appointment for the session in total. We use Ottoform material to make silicone devices for the lesser toes to help treat hammer toes and bunions, or where toes are rubbing on each other and causing corns.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: center;\">The cost of the biomechanical assessment is \u00a3100 and includes casting when needed. Custom-made orthotics start at \u00a3320 for a standard pair. For nearly everyone who needs a pair of custom-made orthotics, the fee will be \u00a3100 for the assessment and casting, plus \u00a3320 for the orthotics. This makes a total of \u00a3420 to pay.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: center;\">Please note, if you know that you need custom-made orthotics, then please ask for an hours mi appointment when booking. This will allow enough time for the examination and for the casting.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: center;\">Footwear advice is a big part of what we give every day as Podiatrists alongside our treatments.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: center;\">The high street has and continues to produce bad-fitting shoes and education is needed in this area. Shoes can cause calluses, blisters and a lack of support for certain activities that people like including walking, hiking, running and going to the gym.
